The authentic Alpine town resort of Les Gets is located on an 1172 meters high pass between Switzerland and the Mont Blanc in France, a stone’s throw from the Swiss border. Les Gets is located in the heart of the Portes du Soleil region, surrounded by some of the most varied French alpine scenery and is together with villages like Morzine and Avoriaz part of one of the world’s largest ski areas. Les Gets also has a breath-taking panorama of the highest mountain range in Europe and, of course, of Mont Blanc. Slightly further away, places such as Evian (the source of the famous water), Lac Leman (the lake of Geneva) and Geneva City (in Switzerland) are worthwhile a visit as well.

Winter
Les Gets is part of one of the main ski resorts in Central Europe: Portes du Soleil (650 kilometer of slopes). It is easy to acces from the motorway and only an hour drive from Geneva Airport. The snow history in this region is very good with lifts open usually from mid-December into mid April.
Les Gets resort is suitable for beginner skiers/snowboarders with some of the best ski schools and
learner slopes and very fair prices compared to other parts of Europe. For those who are more familiar
with the Alps in the winter there are also plenty of challenging black runs and free-riding heaven,
varying from ‘open mountain’ to ‘forest runs’.
Day trips to the Swiss part of the ‘Portes du Soleil’ region or to the Mont Blanc area are also possible.

Summer
Summer in the Alps is beautiful, and summer in the Portes du Soleil is an alpine sports 'Mecca' for everything from rafting, hiking, paragliding to mountainbiking or whatever your favourite summer activity is. The mountain bike Down Hill World Cup was held in Les Gets in 2004 and the Tour De France has also been through the town several times.
In wooded surroundings overlooking the village, the Les Gets Golf course has a hole named after the nearby peaks, with the 7th hole ('Mont Blanc') being the most impressive of this line up. From this diversity along with the superb way in which it is looked after, the technical golf course drives its originality, seducing golf lovers all the way to the 19th hole.
For the more adventurous souls, sports such as rafting and paragliding are offered by many professional companies in Les Gets or neighbouring resort of Morzine.
